Kaikoura
13 May, we were on our way to Kaikoura. We had a stop of about 20 minutes, waiting in line for the road closures that have been taking place where safety nets are being installed on the cliffs to stop rocks smashing down onto vehicles if another earthquake hits the area.
Not much further and we reached the Kaikoura racecourse where we planned to park up for two nights. The beach was just across the road.
14 May, J, T and O went fishing on the beach while F and I walked the track up and over the hill to the other side of the peninsula. Awesome views of the beach, racecourse, bus, and mountains in the distance. Lots of stairs, and it took around 25 minutes each way. No fish were caught.
Sam enjoyed his walks. By now he has started getting used to the new routine of going walkies, we try to take him out in the morning before moving the bus, in the afternoon, and his favourite time to get out is after dark.
