Taranaki
May 22nd. After leaving Levin, we motored through Palmerston North, stopping just long enough to visit the model shop and grab lunch. It turned into a long drive day and we made it to the Hawera NZMCA park just before sunset. It was great to finally see Mt Taranaki again.
The next morning we travelled the last hour to make it to my parent's driveway in Waitara. We didn't have any set plans on how long we would stay here, but it ended up being over a month. One of the first things I did was visit nana as I hadn't seen her in years. She and grandad used to be NZMCA members many years ago, and she passed me a "wings" pin of theirs.
During that time we were in Taranki, we took the kids to some of the touristy spots that they didn't really remember, as we moved down south when they were young.
